Is the slab ready for indoor furniture?
Ask the slab supplier about drying, conditioning, flatness, and structural defects. A surface can look beautiful while still needing substantial preparation. Establish what work remains before comparing base styles or planning your first dinner on it.
What are the usable dimensions?
Measure the actual outline, thickness, and underside, including narrower areas and defects. A nominal length does not tell you where the legs can sit. Draw the base footprint beneath the slab and evaluate how much top extends beyond each side.

The shape is ready. The choices are yours.
Start with an unfinished foundation and choose the tabletop and finish around your project.

Weight matters when choosing support and planning installation. The kit listing does not publish a load rating for arbitrary slabs. Provide the actual slab details to the seller and an experienced maker rather than assuming every walnut top is acceptable.
How will you attach it?
Work with the slab maker on secure mounting that suits the wood and permits necessary movement. Avoid choosing fasteners only because they are already in the toolbox. Connection locations and appropriate penetration depend on the underside and thickness of your specific slab.
Should the base match or contrast?
Dark paint can frame the walnut, while a lighter base can emphasize its grain. Attempting a stain match across different species takes testing. Compare samples against the actual slab, including its intended clear finish, before coating the base.
What does the customer example establish?
Brandi's supplied Etsy feedback describes a successful walnut slab pairing and a follow-up bench-leg order. That supports the design idea and an inquiry about matching pieces. It does not establish the dimensions or load capacity for your own slab.

Your project starts with a base
Four unfinished rubberwood turned legs, prepared pine apron/skirting pieces, and leg-to-apron screws. You supply the top, finish, tools, and suitable top attachments. Assembly instructions are not included; buyers should be comfortable assembling furniture. Legs ship from the supplier and aprons from our shop, so parcels may arrive separately.
