You choose the starting point

Maybe you already have a slab, a family tabletop, or a panel you have been saving. Building around it gives that material a role instead of leaving it against a garage wall. The story begins with something you deliberately chose to keep.

IDEA 02 / 05

You make the design decisions

The top, base finish, seating, and room layout become a connected project. Even when another maker prepared some components, the final combination reflects your judgment. That is a different experience from accepting the only finish a store happens to stock.

You learn useful skills

Measuring, checking square, testing finishes, and planning hardware are useful beyond one table. Work within your ability and ask for help where needed. Pride comes from a thoughtful result, not from refusing assistance or pretending an unfamiliar task is simple.

IDEA 04 / 05

You see progress in stages

Photograph the dry fit, finish samples, and completed table. Small milestones help a larger project feel manageable. They also make it easier to explain what you chose and why when someone asks about the finished piece.

IDEA 05 / 05

You get to live with the result

The best reward is not the before-and-after photo. It is using the table for meals and everyday conversation. Build something that suits your habits, care for it appropriately, and let the project become part of the room rather than a protected display.

Your project starts with a base

Four unfinished rubberwood turned legs, prepared pine apron/skirting pieces, and leg-to-apron screws. You supply the top, finish, tools, and suitable top attachments. Assembly instructions are not included; buyers should be comfortable assembling furniture. Legs ship from the supplier and aprons from our shop, so parcels may arrive separately.
